Spy x Family Episode 13 Summary
Spy x Family Cour 2 begins with a recap of the first half of Season 1: Ostania and Westalis are at odds. Donovan Desmond, the political leader of Ostania, is at the center of the conflict between the two nations. Agent Twilight is the spy assigned to investigate him as part of Operation Strix.
Twilight, now known as the Loid Forger, adopts a telepathic daughter named Anya and marries an enemy assassin, Yor Briar, as part of his new masquerade. He is now ready for the next step in his mission, having enrolled his daughter in the same school as Desmond’s youngest son, Damian.
Loid argued early in the morning after the Forger family had breakfast together that it would get Anya a puppy to keep her motivated to do well in school until she earned the necessary eight points to attend Donovan’s social event . Unfortunately for Loid, he is called to an emergency meeting and has to pretend he has a toilet emergency in order to leave quickly. Before leaving, he asks Yor to accompany Anya to a pet adoption event.
Loid learns of an assassination plot against Brantz at the meeting he attends on the way to the meeting. The accused conspirators are an isolated group of students from the University of Berlintz who are also on the radar of the secret police. Luckily, Loid and the agency were able to catch one of the conspirators and extract some information from him. Loid is asked to pose as Keith, the group’s leader, in order to trick the young man into revealing everything he knows about the conspiracy.
The ruse succeeds, as the agency discovers the names of the other members of the organization, their hiding spots, and their plan to carry out the assassination. Keith’s plan is to strap bombs to some dogs and ambush the Westalis Secretary of State while he’s moving. Loid tries to narrow down the list of likely targets using the information provided by the plotter, but cannot understand how university students can afford to train attack dogs to carry out an assassination. His friend believes the students need to be backed by a third party, either right-wing or enemy sympathizers.
Yor and Anya are intrigued by the number of animals present at the pet adoption event, and Yor laments why Loid didn’t take them there first. Anya encounters a telepathic white dog who beams a thought into Anya’s mind while discussing potential pets to adopt with an employee.
Since Yor is too busy with the clerk, Anya decides to explore the dog on her own, which leads her to one of Keith’s hideouts. Unfortunately for Anya, she overhears Keith’s plan to assassinate the Westalis Secretary of State with his bomb dogs and is apprehended by one of Keith’s servants.
The white dog, sensing that Anya is in danger, frees itself in time to save the girl from death. Yor realizes her daughter has disappeared at the pet adoption and anxiously searches the grounds for her while Anya and the dog figure out how to escape Keith. She begins to imagine every worst-case scenario if she can’t find Anya, including the possibility that she was kidnapped by a human trafficker. Yor begins wishing for her husband to come back from the toilet as she worries more about Anya being sold as a bride to an unscrupulous man.
Loid calls Sylvia after thoroughly investigating all of Keith’s possible hiding spots to inform her of a lead involving two white vans rented to one of Keith’s followers, Kevin Knowles. Sylvia then reveals her information about the canines that Keith collected: they are all leftovers from Project Apple that were sold in the illegal market. The former Eastan government experimented with Project Apple canines to create hyper-intelligent creatures that could serve military purposes.
While in Keith’s safehouse, his phone rings and he is notified that two of his previous hideouts have been investigated by suspicious agents. This forces Keith to implement Plan B, but before he does, he notices that Anya and the dog have left the premises. He decides to go after her instead, leading to a chase that immediately catches Yor’s attention. On the run from Keith and his supporters, Anya discovers that the dog is telepathic like her, except that he can predict the future.
Keith eventually cornered Anya and the dog after they ran in circles around the block. He then threatened to execute them both. Yor arrives just in time to pick up her daughter before he has a chance to touch the girl. She manages to punch one of Keith’s followers before confronting Keith, mistaking him for a human trafficker. Anya, on the other hand, is grateful for the early arrival of her adoptive mother.
