love in the flesh
Five couples who have previously only met online meet for the first time in the luxurious setting of a Greek beach house – not a villa, because that’s the Love Island thing and this show is completely different.
And it wouldn’t be a modern day dating reality show without ample opportunities for the couples to get to know each other and maybe find someone they’d rather be with. Wait a minute, this is a bit like Love Island. It’s hard not to see the similarities between the two shows, especially considering where Zara McDermott’s Love in the Flesh host rose to fame, but Love in the Flesh is original in that the show’s contestants are already in relationships are.

Love in the flesh where they are now
Shelby and Millie
Shelby and Millie were both nervous about opening up and being vulnerable, but by the last episode, Shelby and Millie had dropped the L-bomb — sort of. Both agreed that what they experienced could be “the beginning of love”. Things seemed to be going well when the couple left the beach house and they continued to see each other, but things got rocky as Millie’s health began to deteriorate. A previous accident had left her with long-term leg damage, and despite Shelby’s best efforts, one relationship was too much for Millie on top of hospital visits and surgeries. However, the two remain friends and have no regrets about their time on the show.
Jess and Kwame
On the show, a five-year relationship that didn’t even include FaceTime was finally brought to the real world. During those five years, Jess and Kwame stopped talking for a while, dated new people, and Jess even had a baby. As she left her son’s father, she and Kwame reignited their conversation and looked forward to finally meeting each other. But the sparks didn’t fly right away — quite the contrary when Kwame fell asleep in the middle of a conversation with Jess. After a pivotal conversation, things got better and it seemed like romance was on the horizon. Back in the real world, they’re still waiting to see how things play out – Jess is hoping the job change (she’s currently working demanding shifts as a caregiver) will give her more time to see Kwame, to find out if she’s really can find love in the flesh.
Chibz and Shazelle
Chibz was on the verge of giving up any chance of romance with Shazelle. They dated twice during the two years they talked and FaceTimed — and both times she stood him up. The connection was instant when they met and the pair fell in love, although Shazelle’s head was turned by Kwame for a brief moment.
In real life, things have been moving fast – they’ve met each other’s families and are looking for their first home together to raise their baby. Yes, Shazelle is expecting the very first Love In The Flesh child!
Brandon and Hannah
Brendan, a 23-year-old college student, and Hannah, a 24-year-old paralegal, have been flirting from the start. Brandon initially desired a commitment-free relationship, which led to them not speaking for a while after Hannah expressed her desire for more. Brendan got back to her afterwards and they have been inseparable for six months. Will they be just as in love in person? The show ended, but we don’t know what happened to the couple or if they found the happy ending they were looking for.
Christos and Niki
Christos, the restaurant manager, and Niki, the caretaker, are both of Greek descent and share similar family values. However, a three-hour time difference has prevented them from making progress as a couple, but they have constantly kept in touch, speaking on the phone three times a day. Both Christos and Niki hope it will all be worth it when they finally meet. Niki describes himself as bubbly, hilarious and always up for a laugh, while Christos describes himself as confident and outgoing. We think they’re a perfect match, but how will they interact in person? The show ended, but we don’t know what happened to the couple or if they found the happy ending they were looking for.
Ana is one of the newcomers when the show introduces six new singletons. She’s a 24-year-old bartender from Aberdeen and a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic who says online dating is hopeless in her hometown. She hopes to find “the one” during her time on Love in the Flesh. The show ended, but we’re not sure what happened to Ana or if she got her happy ending she was looking for.
Caz is a 26 year old business owner from Fife. According to him, he’s never had trouble attracting women but isn’t yet in a serious relationship – the only thing missing from his life. The show ended, but we’re not sure what happened to Caz or if he got his happy ending he was looking for.
Dan, 26, is an insurance broker from Chepstow. Dating in his small town is tricky as he says you’re either a match for someone you’ve dated or your pal’s ex. He believes that Love in the Flesh will open the door to a window pool of women to date. Especially given the romantic setting of a Greek island. The show ended, but we’re not sure what happened to Dan or if he got her happy ending he was looking for.
Edwyna is a 25 year old beauty consultant from London. She is a deeply spiritual person and wants someone to get to know her so she can form a real connection. The show ended, but we’re not sure what happened to Edwyna or if she got her happy ending she was looking for.
Joe is a 14 year old engineer from York. He’s on every single dating app and spends a lot of time texting multiple girls. However, he hoped that his time with Love in the Flesh would change him for the better and finally make him ready to settle down. The show ended, but we’re not sure what happened to Joe or if he got his happy ending he was looking for.
27-year-old Lauren is a personal assistant from Coventry. She believes that dating in real life is better than online dating as she is a sociable person and values personal experience more than news. She’s looking for the real deal. The show ended, but we’re not sure what happened to Lauren or if she got her happy ending she was looking for.
Chibz and Shazelle obviously took first place, Millie and Shelby took second place, while Jess and Kwame ended up taking third place in the voting.
