Aamir Khans Laal Singh Chaddha failed to use the Sunday holiday as the film collected in the area of Rs. 9.85 to 10.65 crores, with the four-day weekend totaling Rs. 38.75 crores. The film was up about 15% on Sunday compared to Saturday, but that’s not saying much.
It marked the return of Aamir Khan to the big screen after 4 long years and the results are disastrous to say the least. The film has done best in multiplexes and met with outright rejection in the mass belts. The opening day of Laal Singh Chaddha will be the best day for the film and nobody would have imagined that in their wildest dreams.
Laal Singh Chaddha will be considering a 5 day bank holiday from just under Rs. 50 crore and that should have been the 3 day total at worst. The Aamir Khan film ends with a lifetime collection under Rs 80 crore and all involved will incur losses of epic proportions and we will be bringing more to that soon.
Laal Singh Chaddha has recorded the lowest 4-day total for an Aamir Khan film in the past 10 years.
