Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Entertainment District Arc captured the attention of fans and didn’t let go.
Daki and Gyutaro are two of the most ruthless demons in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and you can now pre-order them in a new ConoFig line from Aniplex. If you love villains with a good backstory, check out the pre-order before it ends!
What do we know about this character?
Pre-order ends October 7, 2022 and will ship in June 2023 for $123.98. It is made of PVC and ABS.
ConoFig boasts that their figures are just the right size at an affordable price. This figurine is slightly larger than a soda can and is packed with detail.
Daki’s obi sash and hair have lots of movement and Gyutaro looks ready to fight! His kama looks creepy as he grins while carrying his little sister on his shoulders.
The only thing that would improve this figure is a unique base, but it’s only a transparent one. If you haven’t seen The Entertainment Arc, be warned, there will be spoilers.
Who are Daki and Gyutaro?
Like most demons, these siblings began as humans. Gyutaro’s mother tried to kill him while he was still in her womb and after he was born.
But Gyutaro lived on, and when his sister Ume was born, his outlook on life changed. He was proud to have such a beautiful sister and did his best to raise her.
He became a debt collector and learned how to use the kama, a sickle weapon. Gyutaro often beat those from whom he collected debts, even after they paid him.
Ume became an oiran, or courtesan, and because of her white hair and blue eyes, she became very popular. But everything changed when Ume was 13.
While Gyutaro was working, a samurai was blinded in one eye by Ume for unknown reasons. In retaliation, she was tied up and almost burned to death.
Gyutaro found her in a hole, still clinging to life despite her injuries, and while screaming at the heavens to restore her to normal. The samurai cut him down from behind.
A manager of one of the brothels, while lamenting the loss of Ume as a courtesan, urged the samurai to stop work. But Gyutaro killed them both and tried to find someone to help them but nobody wanted.
Except for the previous Upper Rank 6, Doma turned them into demons and wondered if they could join the upper ranks one day, claiming to be a nice guy for giving them his blood.
