Ek villain returns is stable on the second day as the film has rallied in the Rs range. 7.20 to Rs 7.60 crores. It’s a jump of about 7% to 10% on Saturday, bringing the 2-day total of the Mohit Suri film to Rs. 14.60 crores. The film stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles.
Film has remained flat in the mass belts while multiplexes are up 7%, leading to an overall uptick in business. Being a mass film this was expected, however a rather steady Saturday has made Sunday growth very important. Ek villain returns is expected to rise 15% on Sunday and this should bring the opening weekend total to Rs. 24 crores.
Weekend business will take a beating and then, as always, everything will depend on Monday’s crucial test. A Monday at Rs. 3.25 crores will be decent and put the film in the running for Rs. 50 crores over the lifetime. The weekend biz of Ek villain returns will be higher than lifetime collections of bigger starcast movies like Jersey, Runway 34, Heropanti 2, Jayeshbhai Jordaar to name a few.
