Pop titans BTS leader RM has made another generous donation for the preservation, restoration and exploitation of cultural assets abroad. The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation announced that RM recently donated 100 million won (about Rs. 57.1 lakhs) to the Foundation for the Preservation, Restoration and Utilization of Overseas Cultural Properties.

According to Korean media portal Soompi, on September 15, 2021, RM quietly donated 100 million won (about 57.1 lakhs) to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation. According to the foundation, the donations for the preservation work of the Joseon Dynasty hwarots—traditional Korean clothing worn only by royal women on ceremonial occasions during the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties—were used at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA ) used. The additional 100 million won donated by RM this year will be used to create a catalog showcasing Korean paintings.
As the report notes, RM was also recognized as one of the 2020 arts patrons after lending a piece of his “Horse” sculpture collection by sculptor Kwon Jin Gyu to the Seoul Museum of Art and paying 100 million won (about Rs. 57.1 lakhs) to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Recently, the artist also provided commentary in Korean and English for The Space Between: Modern Korean Art Exhibition, opening September 11, 2022 at LACMA.
On the music front, RM was on the track “Sexy Nukim’ – a song by Balming Tiger.
