Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatts Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji turns out to be a spectacle that audiences willingly witness on the big screen. According to sample data we received, the IMAX version of Brahmastra sells tickets faster than hot cupcakes. The film has already sold 65 to 70 percent of tickets in IMAX houses in India and is on target for over 80 percent presale on opening day alone.
The film becomes the first Hindi film to collect Rs. 1 crore or more from IMAX in India alone and that will be something of a record. Indeed, there is a great opportunity Brahmastra collect Rs. 1 crore NETT from IMAX real estate with the presale alone. From Tuesday evening, Brahmastra has sold 20,000 tickets at IMAX houses in India, representing 70 percent occupancy. The IMAX version has garnered Rs. 82 lakh net so far and by the end of Thursday we expect to have sold out 80 per cent of the total IMAX tickets in advance, with a net total of Rs. 1.05 crore.
The film will surpass the opening day collections of films like Padmavat and Thugs of Hindustan in the IMAX with only advance booking. The good news is that bookings are also equally strong for Saturday and Sunday and if the report supports the excitement ahead of release, Brahmastra will end up with over 80 percent occupancy at India’s IMAX facilities, making it the highest ever for a competing Bollywood film KGF 2 and RRR.
There’s a chance the IMAX facilities could even hit 90 percent capacity during the weekend, especially after India’s Asian Cup exit. Brahmastra sees release on all IMAX houses in India with nearly 100 shows per day. The big screen is back like never before for Bollywood.
